ORGANIZATIONS/COMMITTEES

Committee on Advancement of Women and Minorities
This committee serves in a consultative and advisory capacity to the UTHSCSA President and the Vice President for Academic, Faculty, and Student Affairs. The committee is involved in the development of priorities, the formulation and recommendation of plans, and the facilitation of actions that promote the professional development and advancement of women and minorities at UTHSCSA.

Women's Faculty Association
The goal of this organization is to support and encourage the professional development of female faculty by fostering interaction among them and cooperation with women's organizations at UTHSCSA, other academic institutions, and in the community.

International Relations Committee
The mission of this committee is to disseminate and acquire information in the health sciences on an international level, to develop, promote, and coordinate support, to encourage contact between this Health Science Center and academic institutions in other countries, and to foster international alliances and visibility on campus.

Diversity Committee, School of Medicine
This Committee assists the Assistant Dean for Diversity and Professional Development and The Associate Dean for Faculty Life in developing, updating and supporting policies and programs that advance diversity and inclusion related to the School of Medicine faculty, staff, students, and other trainees, and in particular regarding recruitment, hiring, retention and promotion.
